Kitchen remodels have traditionally been good investments, and this continues to hold true. In the remodeling study noted above, kitchen remodels delivered the most “bang for the buck” in terms of value, and outperformed bathrooms on average, despite a 10% increase in all remodeling projects. 61 % of kitchen remodels in this study involved changes and upgrades to kitchens.
Whole Home Remodeling and Additions
Home renovations are once again becoming an attractive option for homeowners with desires to update or upgrade the living space throughout their home. Homeowners surveyed this year reported plans to create more open living spaces by taking out kitchen walls, adding hardwood floors, incorporating technology and mobile integration into their home systems, and increasing bathroom space by separating showers and tubs.
Overall, in whole home remodeling, there is a trend toward mixing old styles with new, especially throughout classic, period homes. In the New Jersey home remodeling market, boasting many areas rich in older home styles, this is especially true.
