Massive 1,200+ square foot basement finished for a client in Manahawkin NJ. The clients goal was to build a giant entertainment area for family and friends, a bedroom for his parents who travel from another country for half the year, a theater room for watching TV, full bathroom, and a dedicated area for working out. We always use higher end products in basements, not only to deliver a superior product but just because it’s the right way to finish a basement. Styrofoam insulation on the block walls, metal studs, moisture resistant drywall on the walls, since everyone knows that sometimes there are moisture and humidity issues with basements. Drop ceiling installed using a custom client selected 2’x2′ tile. We installed 2 wall mounted split systems for heating and air, and a heater in the bathroom to climate control the space. We installed required outlets, recessed lighting, sconce lights in media room, cat5 outlets for tvs/computers, and dedicated lines for the bar and hvac unit. We used a 3 in 1 underlayment for the laminate flooring, it is a vapor barrier, sound deadening, and cushion all in 1. We installed a wet bar with a sink, granite tops, and custom cabinetry. The trim, doors, and paint finishes all came out really nice.
